Active Projects you can help with – Mazin Qumsiyeh
The Palestine Museum of Natural History (PMNH) and Palestine Institute for
Biodiversity and Sustainability (PIBS) at Bethlehem University (BU)
continue to make a mazing progress thanks to volunteers, donors, staff,
funders, and supporters. We have several major projects including ones to
study and preserve biodiversity in Al-Makhrour Valley while supporting
sustainability of local communities surrounding the valley (funded by
National Geographic and Darwin Fund), a project to preserve, value, and
valorize tangible and intangible Palestinian Cultural Heritage related to
nature and agriculture (funded by the British Council partnership with
Masar Ibrahim), a project to build and use a community garden and a
children playground in a part of our botanical garden (funded by Rotary
Club, Equesterian Order and individual donors), and a project to educate
children about climate change (funded by City of Geneva in cooperation with
Zoi International). We had just concluded three other projects focused on
conservation and environmental education/awareness (Dr. Issa Abardiya of
EQA and I travel to Uganda to present results of one of those projects
later this month). We are embarking on a mega project of building green
buildings for the museum and we already have funding for part of it from
the Munib R. Masri Family Foundation but need much more support for that. A
separate fundraising appeal will be issued later this month for that
building project. However, you can help us immediately. *We can do much,
much more and much, much faster with your support. *To help us in any way
