Mazin Qumsiyeh: Impunity and more
Mazin Qumsiyeh:
We completed two days of conferences in Amman, Jordan: future of Research
and Development, a meeting organized by the Union of Arab Universities and
a meeting on Biodiversity organized by IUCN and the Palestine Environmental
Quality Authority. Israeli authorities prevented a key leader of EQA from
joining the meeting. But they have been doing much more recently from
assassinating innocent civilians to ethnic cleansing and more. That is why
the Kerry-Netanyahu attempt at pacification based on the falso notion that
Israel is keeping the status quo on the Haram Alsharif Compound in
Jerusalem.ity is that Israel uses might to change everything: destroying
native presence in Jerusalem and importing racist settlers, preventing
religious access to non-Jews, while allowing racists in to “visit” under
new rules of armed escorts instead of the usual mosque guards, home
demotions, and more.
Tonight I am in Dubai and tomorrow morning heading to Bali, Indonesia for
the Writers and Readers Festival (ubudwritersfestival.com). Please act to
prevent interference in this international festival
Again I feel like a fish out of water being away from Palestine especially
in this difficult situation and I notice how people live normally in all
countries while we suffer from 7 decades of colonialism. We wonder when
impunity for war crimes and crimes against humanity will end. When will the
world wake-up?
